Artist Spotlight: Amil Jahja

Amil Jahja is a senior at Woodland, and an active member of the Fine Arts National Honor Society. Jahja started his photography journey freshman year, taking an entry level photo course, Photo 1. 

“This class was the stepping stone into learning how to improve my photography skills and magnifying the visual appeal of my photos. After taking Photo for one semester, I fell in love with taking pictures. As I took more classes I got better and better at taking pictures,” said Jahja. 

He decided to continue gaining skills in photoshop and pushing himself further creatively, by taking Photo 2 his sophomore year. As a senior, Jahja has committed himself to a full year of photography, taking Advanced Photography and ECE Digital Media & Design. 

Jahja is a photographer with a passion for traveling. Over this past summer, he went overseas visiting, Macedonia and Italy. He was sure to capture shots of nature, architecture, animals, and food. He utilizes his artistic talents to capture memories, and look back on them. He plans to continue taking photos after graduation, as its become a form of expression in his life. 

“When thinking about my future I want to utilize my photography skills. I want to travel the world and take pictures of all sorts of sites and environments,” said Jahja.
