GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated video games of all time, possibly making video game history.
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a video game series that started in 1997. The series is also developed by Rockstar Games and published by Take-Two Interactive. Rockstar has also developed Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. After many years of GTA 5’s release, Rockstar Games announced on X, formally known as Twitter, that they will release a trailer for GTA 6 on December 5th, 2023 at 9am ET. After the announcement, many big games like Overwatch 2, Halo Infinite, and more, would have similar color schemes and layout to the GTA 6 trailer announcement.
However, on December 4th, the trailer was officially released early because somebody had leaked the trailer. On September 2022, a 17-year old hacker and leaker that goes by the name of, “teapotuberhacker”, managed to get multiple videos of GTA 6 in-development and leaked it to the public. As far as anyone knows, the leaked videos were being reposted on X and YouTube. However, Take-Two Interactive took down the leaked videos and found the hacker; the hacker was then arrested. It had also appeared that teapotuberhacker had hacked Uber Technologies Incorporated a few years before hacking Rockstar Games.
After a couple of days since the release, it had reached more than 100 million views, surpassing GTA 5’s trailer in views. While watching the trailer, it seems that Lucia, a criminal, will be one of the characters that gamers can play as, and the location will be Vice City. On the other hand, Vice City is based in Miami, Florida. In that case, there might be strange events and alligator encounters, just like in Florida. Unfortunately, the trailer wasn’t in-game footage. In fact, the trailer was rendered. This means that the graphics in GTA 6 might not look like the trailer. On the other hand, the outro of the trailer revealed that GTA 6 is coming out in 2025.
Ultimately, GTA 6 will be the most popular video game if it goes right. It would be terrible if GTA 6 had many bugs because gamers have been waiting for a decade. However, GTA 6 may not have many bugs because Rockstar Games is well known for making well-made games.
