Student Council Hosts Mr. Woodland Event

Junior and senior boys will be competing in an exciting competition for the title of “Mr. Woodland” this Friday night, February 26, 2016.  The boys will perform on stage, showing off talent and skill through stunts, tricks, and dancing.  Hosted by student council, Mr. Woodland is an event that students do not want to miss because of the excitement and entertainment it promises to present.

The entire Mr. Woodland event has been highly anticipated by students and staff alike, but how many students are actually expected to attend and support the boys?  Mrs. Janice Pugliese, a Woodland Regional High School Librarian, feels that members of the junior class will attend the most amongst all of the classes.  She says that she feels this way because only junior and senior boys will be performing, and seniors may have to work or may not be as focused at this point in the year.  Bayan Galal, a Woodland Regional High School student and student government member, says that she believes more members of the senior class will attend when compared to members of other classes.  She says that this is because people most likely want to see their friends perform.  Since only junior and senior boys are performing, freshman and sophomore class members may not know the performers well and therefore may not be as interested in attending the event.

Mr. Woodland is a fairly new event at Woodland Regional High School, as this is only its second year being held.  However, that does not mean that it will not be filled with fun and entertainment for the whole family.  Students as well as their parents are encouraged to attend.  There will be a People’s Choice Award given to one participant, chosen by the audience.  Attendees can buy raffle tickets to vote for the competitor which they feel best deserves the People’s Choice Award.  For those wishing to attend, tickets are being sold at Deca for $10 each.  They will also be available at the door on Friday night for $12 each.  The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.  So gather your school spirit and come support the performing boys as they provide a fun filled night.
