On September 20th, 2013, Apple put on the market two new iPhones, the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s. While Apple already had a number of iPhones available including the 4, 4s, and 5 the new products are said to be even more advanced than the previous ones.
With the release of these two new smart phones, Apple has decided to eliminate the iPhone 4 along with the iPhone 5. However, the iPhone 4s is still available to customers for a reduced price. The reason Apple chose to eliminate the iPhone 5 rather than the 4s was because the iPhone 5c is simply a new and improved version of the iPhone 5. The iPhone 4s will now remain on the market as the company’s entry-level iPhone.
While the iPhone 5c is just a replacement for the iPhone 5 there are some slight differences. As opposed to the metal backing, which the iPhone 5 had, the iPhone 5c has a plastic back. This backing comes in a variety of colors including blue, green, white, yellow, and pink. Similar to the iPhone 5 the iPhone 5c has a 4-inch Retina display (screen display) and an A6 processor.
With the iPhone 5c simply being an updated version of the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5s is really Apple’s new top-notch smartphone. Unlike the iPhone 5c, the 5s has a metal backing, the same one that has been used on previous iPhones. However, the iPhone 5s is available in a new variety of colors. Rather than simply having black and white the color choices have expanded. The phone is now available in gold, silver, and gray.
Color choices are not the only new future of the iPhone 5s. The 5s has the first ever fingerprint sensor in a smartphone, which is located under the home button and allows one to unlock their phone with just the touch of a finger. Other features include a faster processor and a longer battery life expectancy. The phone also includes an LED flash component in order to aid in the quality of low-light photos.
As far as pricing goes the iPhone 5c is available in 16GB for $549 and in 32GB for $649. The iPhone 5s, the more expensive option, will start with the 16GB phone costing $649, the 32GB costing $749, and the 64GB costing $849. These prices are simply for the phone and can vary depending on different cell phone contracts. Cell phone carriers that offer the iPhone 5c and 5s are AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.
Both the iPhone 5c and 5s will not only aid in connecting people to one another faster than ever before, but will also help to continue to revolutionize smart phone technology.
