Region 16’s One Region, One Book Presents A Trip to the Moon

Region 16’s One Region, One Book will be showing the silent film A Trip to the Moon on Thursday, February 9th, at 5:30, in the WRHS auditorium. The 1902 black and white film, and its director, Georges Melies, are both featured in Brian Selznick’s The Invention of Hugo Cabret, as well as in last year’s major motion picture, Hugo.

The 110-year-old film is about six astronauts’ trip the moon, where they encounter aliens known as Selenites.

The approximately twelve minutes movie will be shown in the WRHS auditorium, and will be accompanied by music. Admission is free.
