Captain Feature – Bryce DiGiovanna

Bryce DiGiovanna, cross country captain for Woodland Regional, has been enjoying running since he was in middle school and has become attracted to the sport. He is proud of what he has accomplished while being active.

“In middle school, I wanted to start running for sports,” said DiGiovanna. “I joined [cross country] and ended up loving the team.”

Some of the things that DiGiovanna does to be more active and involved in cross country are doing warmups and having a healthy diet. He likes to stretch and go jogging. DiGiovanna drinks water to stay hydrated, gets carbohydrates from pasta and meatballs, and dislikes eating unhealthy foods such as ordering food from a fast food chain.

After DiGiovanna came to Woodland, he made friends on the team and enjoyed it even more.

“The main social goal is to form connections with the team, especially the underclassmen,” said DiGiovanna.

One of the jobs that he does is help boost the morale of others involved with cross country to keep and maintain a positive environment.

When DiGiovanna gets to college, cross country will be a sport that he does on the side and will focus on what career he will pursue in life.

“I probably won’t look to do it to get a scholarship. I [would] rather keep it casual in college,” said DiGiovanna.

He is proud of what he has achieved from when he started cross country to today from the physical activities DiGiovanna enjoys, connecting with others, health improvements and having a positive impact on others.

“I’ve definitely improved as time goes on and I’m one of the best runners on the team,” said DiGiovanna. “I like to set high standards for myself.”
