Chipotle vs. Pancheros

Chipotle: almost everyone has heard of it, being one of the most popular places to eat. But, what about Pancheros?

While Chipotle is very popular, many people find themselves liking pancheros too. Chipotle and Pancheros are two very similar places to eat and have the same concept. They both offer burritos, burrito bowls, salads, quesadillas and tacos that are all made in an assembly line by the workers. They are basically the same thing, but there are some differences.

Chipotle offers meats such as beef, chicken, and pork. Pancheros has chicken, steak, carnitas, and a vegan option, called tofusada and sauteed vegetables. Some people like Pancheros more because vegan and vegetarian people can eat there.

Although the meats differ slightly, they both offer white or brown rice. Chipotle offers black beans, pinto beans, and soybeans, while Pancheros offers black beans and pinto beans.

“I think Pancheros has more to offer than Chipotle,” said Woodland junior Hannah Mudry

At Chipotle, they don’t mix the ingredients in the burrito, they just fold it up as is, so some bites only have some ingredients and other bites have others. Pancheros on the other hand, does mix it up so each bite is just as enjoyable as the other.

The tortillas at Pacheros are freshly made, which taste better, while the tortillas at chipotle are pre made, and you can definitely tell.

“Honestly I think they are pretty similar,” said Junior Ava Muharem. “I don’t prefer one over the other.”

Chipotle really fills their bowls, but sometimes that means they can be really messy. From my experiences, I find Panchers to be more put together than Chipotle.

While some students prefer Pancheros, others are totally against it.

“Pancheros has little to no flavor,” said Sophomore Anna Duffany. “I will stand by Chipotle forever.”

There was a poll put out on the HawkHeadlines Instagram account to see what Woodland students think.

Only 21% of voters voted for Pancheros, while 79% of voters voted for Chipotle.
