Internship Spotlight: Eva Fontes

Eva Fontes, a senior, has been exploring her career options for life after college. A major part of this journey has been completing an internship at The Performance Lab in Prospect, Connecticut, where Fontes has observed the physical therapy process and contributed to the overall business.

“The Performance Lab is a physical therapy rehab center,” Fontes said. “So they have some people that are recovering from injuries and other people that come day to day.”

Fontes chose to take part in this opportunity because she is interested in the medical field. She enjoys helping people and watching their healing process.

“I don’t think I want to go into physical therapy because it is not something I see myself doing as a career,” said Fontes.

Many seniors decide to take part in internships as their senior project. Not only can they learn skills for their futures, but they can share what they have learned with others. Fontes also chose to takepart in her internship for another reason.

“I did this internship, not only because it counts towards my senior project, but it is also for the Health Science Pathway,” she said. “I think the internship is the best idea for a senior project. It helps you decide what you want to do or decide that you don’t want to do that as a career.”
