The “Go Green” Machines

Running late? No problem. The new water bottle dispensers will fill your water bottle three times faster than a normal water fountain. And  students can save their money by reusing one water bottle. Dave Langdon, Region 16 facility director, installed the new water dispensers from the Elkay Water Company. Langdon installed five of the machines at Woodland, making it easier for students and faculty to access them. The water dispensers are located in the boys’ and girls’ locker rooms, the cafeteria, and the athletic hallway.

Not only are the water bottle dispensers convenient, but they are also eco-friendly. These appliances save approximately 54 water bottles a day from going into a landfill.

“These new water dispensers are better than water fountains because they are more sanitary,” said Victor “Skip” Sansoucie, Woodland’s custodian.

The Elkay water machine protects against mildew and mold. This water is also filtered, so it is perfectly healthy for everyone.

“The water dispensers are cooler because you can see how many bottles you are saving,” said senior, Angeline Rosato.

As a three-sport athlete, Rosato uses the machine several times a day. She states that the new water dispensers are faster, more efficient, and eco-friendly.

With these new water bottle dispensers, Woodland is doing its part to “go green” in today’s environment.
