Connecticut Horrorfest 2023

Every year towards the end of September, horror fans alike are called to the grisly and fun horror themed event located right in Hartford, Connecticut! The CT Horrorfest is presented by Connecticut-based horror website Horror News Network, one of the top horror news and information sites on the web. Inside the Horrorfest, you will find horror-themed vendors that sell merchandise of iconic characters such as Michael Myers and Ghostface, or you can meet the actual actors, if you dare.

This year, the Horrorfest is inviting many popular actors and actresses, but perhaps the most anticipated is David Howard Thornton, the man who played Art the Clown in the gory slasher franchise, Terrifier. Art the Clown has become iconic due to the incredibly violent movies he is seen in, where he typically hacks away at nearly all the people on screen.

Avid horror fan, Nita Dujaka, was very excited to hear about Art the Clown’s arrival to the Horrorfest.

“I’m super excited for the horrorfest. I’ve been to it once in 2021, and it was so awesome. Art the Clown is also one of my favorite horror characters as of late, and I wanna meet him. The Horrorfest is a really fun event for Halloween and for those who like horror,” Dujaka said.

Not only does the Horrorfest invite horror celebrities, but they also invite musicians such as Scott Ian and Frank Bello from the thrash metal band, Anthrax. Edgar Jorge met them both in 2022.

“I’m not a big horror person, but I wanted to go to the Horrorfest to meet them,” said Jorge. “I’m a big fan of their music, and this was my opportunity to see them.”

The Horrorfest might give you the chance to meet your favorite musicians and horror icons, but some don’t have plans of returning. Checking the list of who will be coming and which celebrities will be present is important to decide whether you’re interested in the event or not.

“I might not be going back, but I’ll be looking into it to see if any other people I’m familiar with could be coming or returning,” Jorge comments.

The Horrorfest took place on September 23 and September 24.
