In the new market of smartphones, Apple is dominating with their wide variety of iPhones. With such a selection, it can be hard to determine which product to get. In my opinion It depends on things such as the cost and necessity.
Some iPhones need to be ignored, but others are perfect. For example, I think the iPhone 14 is a complete waste of money but the iPhone 14 Pro is a major upgrade compared to previous models. The 14 has around one major difference from the 13 and it’s the ability to call without cell service. Otherwise, it’s basically the same for a higher price.
Phones with larger price tags can be a major factor when someone is deciding what is right for them. If you want a higher quality iPhone and will spend over $1000, then the iPhone 14 Pro would be perfect for you. If you are struggling financially and have around half of that, then you could buy a refurbished iPhone 12 pro.
These options are dependent on the wants and needs of yourself. Getting a phone too old will result in it dying too fast, anything older than 2019 should not be bought because they have less than two years left of life. The last iPhone to be updated with the new iOS is the iPhone 8, which came out in 2017. The new IOS, iPhone operating System, makes the phone really slow. Old phones are a big no.
Some people may think of the newest as the best option. I, personally, own the newest iPhone and that’s because I need some of the features on it. Recently, the newer iPhones have been adding camera lens’ on the pro model iPhones. These are the telephoto lens, wide-angle lens, and ultra wide-angle lens. With these new cameras, this year’s iPhone improved the quality of the main wide angle lens from 12 mp to 48 mp.
These are great improvements but not needed at all. These are movie level cameras but last time I checked, not many people film movies with iPhones. Less expensive models have the same camera’s except for the telephoto lens. This is one of the main defining features of the pro model iPhones. Majority of the other features will go unused too. If the three cameras are super important to you then take a look at older models. The iPhone 12 Pro has somewhat similar features but with a smaller price. Three cameras and around the same build quality. The only major difference is the iPhone 14 Pro has a new screen with the new dynamic island. This replaces the notch and holds the front facing camera. It has a facial scanner and front-facing camera. It is elevated with software to make it look new. The dynamic island has no major difference when it comes to the experience of using your iPhone. If you have a smaller budget and don’t want to buy refurbished products, those would be good options.
The 2022 iPhone SE is a good option too. It is $429 and has the intervals of an iPhone 13 with the size of an iPhone 8. If you want something a little more modern the iPhone 12 from 2020 is selling for 600. As someone who personally owned the iphone 12 I can say it is a strong phone. I have dropped it quite a lot. It also has a very good camera. If that price is good for you, you can buy the iPhone 13 mini with the same Price. The iPhone 13 mini is very good but in the future, there will be no more mini models. The form is quite small with a big screen for the size. It’s a great phone and is considered one of the best phones of 2021 and maybe even 2022.
Looking at gifting a phone to someone is different then buying one for yourself. If you are a parent or grandparent looking to buy their child a phone, you should look at the persons previous phone. if you’re able to drop $1,000 on a new phone get them a pro model, but take into consideration how they treat their previous phones. If they go through phones like crazy don’t get them anything expensive and make sure to get applecare. Always take a look at your cellular companies deals because you could get anywhere from $50 to $800 off on your next iphone. It is super important to get protection on your phone. If you buy a phone directly from Apple you can get AppleCare which will bring your price of repair down from around $200 to $29.

Soliman has kept good care of her phone and it was working perfectly fine. She did end up upgrading to a newer iPhone but that’s because her old one was going to conk out soon. Her iPhone XR is originally from 2018 and it is coming upon its fifth year of IOS updates. Five years is the longest an iPhone has been updated for. Its age does show when looking at the back of the phone but otherwise it seems pretty modern.
If you want something a step ahead, next year Apple is rumored to unveil a much more expensive iPhone which will have with luxury features such as like the 14, being able to call without service and text via satellite to police stations, and this leads me to my next feature, crash detection which detects when a car has been in an accident. It blips your location and tells your family and it sends a message to your emergency contacts of your whereabouts and calls the police for you. With this new iPhone the new features aren’t revolutionary but they are a stepping stones for improvement. The dynamic island is a cool new feature but unnecessary. The only reason it was implemented was to make it not look like an iPhone 13 pro. The dynamic island is the new notch.
The dynamic island is the front of the phone that contains the front facing camera and the scanner that allows your phone to read your face. Without it you couldn’t take selfies or unlock your phone with your face. This was originally in a notch and was located at the top of the screen. This has changed with the new pill shape design. This design is more modern but barely has a new function. Other features, such as the new camera are cool but not many people are going to use it’s capabilities in everyday life. The phone has an amazing build quality but it’s the same build quality of the last four years. Furthermore, the new ones are great but not that different.
Finding an iPhone might seem like a small decision but it can have a massive impact on your daily life. When looking please take into consideration all of the factors I have mentioned above. Despite what iPhone you chose I hope you use my article to help you choose it.
