BEACON FALLS–Caitlyn Sousa, Woodland Regional High School senior, has not looked back since her involvement with the Love is Louder campaign several months ago.   Her latest contribution to the movement is a video documentary showcasing the many hours and ideas that she has invested in the spreading the word that Love is Louder.

Sousa found inspiration in the pages of Seventeen magazine in an article where musician, actor and now, contributing editor Demi Lovato (Sonny with a Chance) shared her involvement with the JED Foundation, MTV and Brittany Snow’s Love is Louder campaign which focuses on positive energy.

Taken with the message of spreading love as an antidote to conflict, pain and depression, Sousa chose to bring the message to her community as her senior project, a requirement for graduation.    Sousa has expanded her contributions from a photo shoot, a display outside the library, a literary magazine dedicated and one-minute video to the inspirational theme to a new video documenting her achievements over the past few months.

In association with WRHSmedia:JOURNALISM, Sousa and director Claire Mordowanec embarked on a week-long ordeal, developing a three-minute reprisal of all things Love is Louder inspired Sousa to coordinate.  In the video, Sousa, clad in a red tee, is seen as an observer, watching others–wearing white shirts–around her not involving themselves with one another.  After shot of a disinterested classroom, the video charts the progression of Sousa’s campaign.

Vignettes from three individuals who were affected by Sousa’s campaign anchor the story line.  The self-narrated stories are interspersed with images from Sousa’s involvement around her school: in one, a sped up shot Sousa’s one-minute video and in another, time-lapse photography was used to record a full day of students and faculty signing a “Love is Louder than…” banner.

Winners for the JED Foundation video contest will be selected on the day love is loudest, February 14th.

UPDATE::The video was selected as a featured video on both loveislouder.com and act.mtv.com.
