Who the fairest groundhog of them all

On February 2nd Punxsutawney Phil came out infront of thousands of people and did not see his shadow. That means that winter will be elongated.
Punxsutawney Phil is the most famous groundhog in the United States. Thousands of people gather around the little town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and see what this little rodent has to say about our seasons.
Even though Phil has a lot of fans in the United States there are still other groundhogs for groundhogs day. In Connecticut we have our own groundhog. His name is Chuckles and he makes his appearance in Manchester, Connecticut. He is our official state groundhog.
Interesting, when Chuckles came out in front of Connecticut he saw his shadow. Phil and Chuckles both have different predictions on what will happen for our seasons.
We do not exactly have a typical winter up here in the north either. Our last major snow storm was in October. A longer winter would seem like a silly prediction since we have not had much of a winter in the first place.
There are over a hundred groundhogs around the United States and Canada that come out for groundhogs day and try to see their shadow. (according to groundhogsday.org)
Groundhogs day is based on a folktale that was made up in the 17-18 centuriy. It is believed that groundhogs day prediction is correct. The problem with that is that there are so many groundhogs making predictions that we don’t know who is right. Regardless of which groundhog is the most popular.
