Broncos make it to the second round of the playoffs

Sunday night was a big night for the Denver Broncos. The 2nd year quarterback Tim Tebow played against “big” Ben Roethlisberger and the defending AFC champs, The Pittsburgh Steelers.

The game was played in Denver.  Pittsburgh started off the first quarter with two field goals, for a total of six points. The Broncos had no score on the board for the whole first quarter.

Tebow however, managed to pull the Broncos together in the second quarter, and they scored 20 points while the Steelers score remained at 6 for the rest of the  quarter.

The teams battled the whole game, and the Steelers tied the game up 23-23. The two teams then went into overtime.

The NFL had made new rules for overtime in the playoffs. There is a coin toss before it begins. Whoever wins the coin toss gets to make the decision of getting the possession or giving the ball to the other team to start. Whoever scores the touchdown first wins the game. However, if they score anything that is not a touchdown, then the game goes on.

The Broncos had won the coin toss. Within the first 11-seconds of overtime, Tim Tebow threw an eighty-yard touchdown. This was the shortest overtime in NFL history.  Demaryius Thomas, the Broncos wide receiver was the player that scored the game winning touchdown.

The Denver Broncos had beaten the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-23. The Broncos next game is at New England against the Patriots.
