Never trust a pretty girl with a secret. That is what author Sara Shepard tells us about her novel, Pretty Little Liars, before we even open the book.

The Pretty Little Liars series are about four girls who used to be best friends. They have all moved on in their lives, almost completely forgetting about each other, until one thing that keeps them connected comes up again: the death of their old best friend and ‘leader’, Alison DiLaurentis. Ali went missing on the last day of seventh grade at their end of the year sleep over.

Now three years later the news about Ali comes up again after Aria Montgomery moves back into town and the girls lives seem to be going great.
Hanna Marin is the most popular girl at school along with new her best friend Mona Vanderwaal. Emily Fields is a star swimmer, Spencer Hastings is head of multiple committees and a straight A student and Aria has a new start back in her old town.

Everything is going great, until all four girls start getting text messages from the mysterious “A”. “A” claims that they know everything about the girls. Every little last dirty secret of theirs and threatens to spill them all unless the girls do exactly as told.

Now they all have a choice to make. Listen to A and risk their lives. Or do not do as A says and risk their lives. Each page is another surprise and you never expect what will happen next.
The books are phenomenal and they are even being turned  into a series of shows on ABC family. The show will premiere on June 8th at 8:00pm.
