The History of the Beacon Falls Farmers Market

The Beacon Falls farmers market is a hidden gem in Beacon Falls; it provides fresh produce and food for Naugatuck Valley residents. It’s located in the main parking lot of the Beacon Hose Co No.1, where multiple vendors sell their handmade items to local residents.

Molly Delong of “Molly’s Bakery” shares some insight and personal feelings on being a vendor at the market. “For me personally, the market is the reason I was able to make the leap from a home cottage baker to a commercial operation,” says Delong. “It’s a great way for other local companies to get their name out there and introduce their products.” Molly has been a crucial part of the market this year where she has named herself “volunteer market manager.”

Customers’ reactions to a company is a vital part of keeping up with sales. They are probably the biggest contributor out of everyone supporting the farmers market. Multiple different customers had explained that the farmers market was beneficial to the community. “I enjoy the atmosphere and ambience of the market itself,” explains a local.

So, if you ever are looking for some fresh food and something to do during the months of May-September, make sure you check out the Beacon Falls Farmers market. You’re not just feeding yourself, you’re benefiting the companies you are supporting.
