Saints Celebrate First Superbowl Victory

The New Orleans Saints took home the 44th Superbowl title against the Indianapolis Colts. A back-and-forth game definitely kept fans interested. However, the Colts just could not hang out to a lead and the Saints took home the gold with a score of 31-17.
As the underdog of the game, the Saints shocked football fans across the country by winning the Superbowl trophy.  With a rocky start, it was almost obvious that the Colts would bury the Saints, but in reality they were hard to stop, especially after a Superbowl record was set by kicker Garret Hartley. Hartley is the first kicker in Superbowl history to kick three field goals from 40 or more yards away from the end zone. This record helped tremendously in the win for the Saints.
After a night of challenged plays, hard tackles, and close scores, the Saints can celebrate Mardi Gras early with a Superbowl ring on their finger. It is always nice to see the underdog take home the victory, and fans were impressed with the game. High school student and Saints fan, Adam Moss, was pleased with the win from the black and gold.
“They played a great season and it payed off. That’s all I can say.”
