Wrapped in warmth, stepping in style, UGG fever is the ultimate craze. The obsession with UGGs has returned this year in full force, dominating winter fashion. 

Coats, scarves, beanies, and sweaters are cold-weather fashion staples; however, one brand, in a league of its own is UGG. These shoes grab everyone’s attention – expensive fur-coated slippers and boots taking the world by storm. From the Tasman to the classic tall boot, pretty much everyone recognizes these stylish shoes.

UGGs are known for the comfort and warmth they provide, but in recent years their popularity has increased due to the addition of different styles.

“I like the Tasman style as well as the cozy slipper style,” said freshman, Emily Preston. “The insides are soft and they are really comfortable.”

 For a few years, UGGs seemed to fall out of trend, but that is not the case this year. The UGG brand was once solely known for its classic tall boot style, but now it is known as a brand that caters to both men and women as well as casual and formal dress. With the addition of a multitude of different styles, UGGs have become one of the most versatile shoe brands for winter fashion.

“UGGs can be worn with any outfit,” said senior, Ava Laudadio. “They can be dressed up or down, worn with sweatpants or jeans, making the perfect outfit.”  

Whether you are a fan or not of UGGs, there is no doubt that they are a trend that has recurred throughout the years. 

“UGGs are so trendy because they are cute but more importantly very comfortable,” said senior, Ava Muharem. “The fuzzy and comfortable inside of UGG shoes is what makes them so irresistible to me.” 

The comfort of UGGs leaves no doubt that UGG fashion is here to stay. From casual wear to more formal dress, UGGs can complete any outfit. 

“UGG is one of my favorite shoe brands,” said sophomore, Emily Moore. “Their shoes are so comfortable and stylish making them the perfect footwear option.” 

While UGGs are very popular, they come with a hefty price tag. Many love the shoes but not the cost, so they look for dupes: off-brand items that look identical to the original. Most of the dupes are indistinguishable from the on-brand UGGs making these knockoffs a great choice for someone who loves the UGG style but not the UGG price.
