Library Remodeling

The library media center staff rejoice as the Woodland Regional library center undergoes its first remodeling. Over the summer, the much anticipated renovated carpet was placed in, providing the space with a sleeker look. The media center has undergone multiple changes, including new floors and new walls, which creates a fresher appearance for the space.

Students that have been in the school since the start of this year might not have known that the library had changed its design. But to older students, the remodeling was slightly more obvious. Head of the library, Jodie D’Alexander, was present when the changes took place, and she also had a say in some of the changes, such as the color scheme of the carpet.

“The carpeting was a must. The carpets in the library had remained there since the school was opened, and it had a lot of stains and scuffs. White carpeting would’ve given the library a cleaner and more polished look to it,” D’Alexander said.

She believes that the library is now more welcoming to students, more bright, and is also more sanitary. Many juniors and seniors agree with this.

“I like the bright floor,” Junior Lydia Finch expressed. “It makes the area more refreshing, and it just looks like a more pleasant area to be in.”

Another Junior, Cailynn Ferrare, also agreed: “It feels more welcoming, fun, and exciting. It makes me wanna stop by more often and check everything out. It’s definitely a great change.”

While the library still hasn’t completed its remodeling, the changes that have been completed are a fun change. There is still more to come to the library, and D’Alexander informed that in the future, there will be more carpeting, the walls will continue to be painted, and more comfort will be added such as new seats.
