At the faculty meeting on December 4th, four teachers from Woodland Regional High School participated in a chili cook-off.

The teachers that participated were Brian Fell, Athletic Director and Assistant Principal, Megan Hatch, English teacher, Loren Luddy, Spanish teacher, and  Mary Hrenko, Math Teacher.

Once the chili’s were created, other teachers tried each of the chili’s and rated them from first to fourth place. After the tasting was done, Hrenko came out on top.

Hrenko won first place, Luddy received second, followed by Hatch in third, and Fell in fourth. It was the first time Hrenko used this chili recipe. Her mother was her taste tester and told Hrenko it needed more spice after it was cooked.

Hrenko’s Winning Chili Recipe:

2 lbs. ground meat

1 red pepper

1 onion

1 green pepper

1 tsp. Cheyenne pepper

2 tbsp. chili powder

1 can kidney beans

2 bay leaves

1 large can of dried tomatoes

1 short can of tomato sauce

1. Brown meat

2. Add vegetables

3. Add tomatoes and sauce

4. Add spices

5. Cook for ever!
