UConn Brings Home the National Title

In a game featuring the two highest combined seeds in the history of a national championship game UConn and Kentucky went head to head last night for the game of a lifetime. Our Connecticut Huskies beat the Kentucky Wildcats at a final score of 60-54 last night at at the AT&T Stadium in North Texas winning the school’s fourth NCAA title. All of these championships have come since 1999 making them the third fastest a team has won national titles. UConn has earned two titles in four seasons and also the first for their coach Kevin Ollie who happens to play on NBA a few years back.

The most outstanding player was Shabazz Napier who scored 22 points last night and 14 points more were added by Ryan Boatright.

Connecticut lead by as many as 15 points in the first half and were never behind in the game.

Aaron missed a 3 pointer that would have given Kentucky the lead. Napier bumped UConn up by four. Kentucky made one field goal at the last 5 minutes of the game but Uconn was very cool about it counting. The Huskies made all of their 10 foul shots while Kentucky only made 13 out of their 24 free throws.

The loss for Kentucky was hard on their coach John Calipari who could have earned his second championship in three years.

“Honestly, I want to get everybody’s attention right quick,” Napier said. “You’re looking at the hungry Huskies. Ladies and gentlemen, this is what happens when you banned us.”

As we know the Huskies were banned for a short time for March Madness because of problems with the grade. The Huskies showed us what they have and put it into full gear.

There is so much too long back upon through this whole season. Through all their ups and downs UConn showed us who they are and brought home the trophy.

The UConn women play tonight and if they win it will be the first sweep of the titles since 2004. Good luck tonight to the women and great job to the men last night. GO UCONN!!!
