Senior Spotlight: Evan Moore

Directing his own play The Skeleton’s Key. Evan Moore, Woodland Senior, is stealing the show for his senior project.

Moore has been a part of the Woodland Theater program for all four years of high school and all three years of middle school. He also has the intent of continuing in theater in his future. Theater has been a big part of his Woodland experience, and has exceeded with each performance. He has been a part of many plays like The Diary of Anne Frank, when he played the role of Peter Van Daan, and his performance in The Spongebob Musical when he played as Plankton.

“I do plan on pursuing a career in theater, but I would like to go into college for psychology as well,” said Moore. “I would like to be involved in theater for the rest of my life.”

Being in theater for so long, Moore had to overcome multiple obstacles to be able to complete his extensive play.

“A setback has been the balancing time for the three shows that I am involved in right now, which are Guys and Dolls, Beauty and the Beast, and The Skeletons Key.”

In the face of all of those obstacles, there was a helping hand, the rock inside the theater, the stars of the show, the community.

“Everyone is pretty close, [we] support each other and everyone is ready to work and have each other’s backs,” said Moore referring to the community.

With the help of the theater community, he overcame these challenges and got his show on the road. He started rehearsals on February 15th and the show is projected to be recorded and released to the public by March 31st.
