Captain Feature – Kole Molcyk

Heading into senior season, Kole Molcyk, is excited to be taking on the role of captain for the Hawks football team. Molcyk plays both outside linebacker and running back for the Hawks.

“At running back, I take the ball from the quarterback and run the ball when we are not passing,” Molcyk said. “At linebacker, I am behind the defensive line and I make all the tackles on the right.”

Playing football since the young age of eight, Molcyk has always hoped to be a captain and be a part of a team that works really hard.

“I played football my whole life. Ever since I was young I have come to all the hawks football games,” Molcyk said. “Seeing people go out there and work really hard to be where they are, that is what football is all about.”

Molcyk has always looked up to the Woodland program as an example of how hard people can work and as an example of what football means to him.

In order to be captain, Molcyk had to complete an application that included a five paragraph essay and being recommended by underclassmen for the role.

Molcyk’s advice to younger players is to trust the program. Every single player makes a difference on this team.

“My coach sees that I can rally behind the team,” Molcyk said. He sees me as a good leader and he knows that football means a lot to me.”
