Mic Drop at Dyna-Mic Night

Dyna-mic night allows Woodland students to showcase their creativity. On January 26th, Contact Magazine held its first ever Dyna-mic night where students performed poetry, songs, skits, and animations.

Keira Mulvihill, head of layout for Contact Magazine, said that she hopes this event would be a success and that everything would run smoothly. Contact put QR codes into their magazines so that you can hear all of the performances that weren’t originally able to be in there.

“I think it’s mostly because QR codes are newer and there wasn’t an option of having digital things in the magazine,” Mulvihill said. “But now since those are available, we are able to put songs and spoken word in the magazine now.”

Freshman Julia Galasso was excited to show off her singing talent at the event. She was nervous before the event, but afterwards was very happy with her performance.

“It was a lot less difficult than I thought it was going to be, it was really fun,” Galasso said. “I felt like I should share the music that I wrote.”

There were lots of familiar faces at the event, Nathan Trumbley, Ella Bernegger, Evelyn Meade, Logan Johnson, Claire Cummings, Edgar Jorge, Julia Galasso, Casey Mulvihill, and Fynn White. They all performed spoken word, skits, animations, songs and poetry.

“I think everything went really well. I think a lot of people had a lot of fun doing what they love to do,” Mulvihill said. “I think it went very smoothly and I don’t think there were any hiccups.”

Be sure to support Contact Literary Magazine in all the upcoming events that are happening, and remember to get your magazine today on Schoology or talk to Paul Geary.
