Mouth Watering Foods of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a very popular holiday, as it brings together family and prompts people to count their blessings and find what they are thankful for. At the center of everything is the food. From the turkey to the pies, there are many options at Thanksgiving. The big question is, which is the best?

Many families don’t subscribe to the traditional Thanksgiving plate: sometimes turkey is replaced with ham. Others love cranberry sauce, yams, bread, carrots and many more. Out of all of the wonderful foods, these are the top four ranked by Woodland students.

Fourth- Pies

Woodland students ranked pies in fourth place. Apple and pumpkin pies are both staples of the Thanksgiving feast. They come out of the oven piping hot, and sweet. Complemented with some vanilla ice cream it is delicious and a good contender for a top food.

Third- Turkey

In third place, Woodland students voted turkey, the star of the show for many families Thanksgiving. Whether it is deep fried, baked in the oven, it is one of the most delicious foods on the plate. When fried it is crispy and golden brown, but when it is cooked in the oven, it is soft like butter and delicious to eat.

Second- Stuffing

In second place is the stuffing. Stuffing is usually made up of a variety of vegetables, bread and sausage. It is filled with lots of great flavors and it is a delightful Thanksgiving side dish.

First- Mashed Potatoes

According to Woodland students the best food of them all is mashed potatoes. They are very appetizing, and when paired with gravy, an unbeatable Thanksgiving side dish.

“Mashed potatoes with gravy are the equivalent to potato heaven,” Freshman Emma DeGeorge says.

All of the Thanksgiving foods are amazing and they truly get your whole family to pitch in and it brings you closer together as a family. So enjoy the wonderful foods, the celebrations and the company of your family.
