Upcoming Field Trip

After a  two and a half year moratorium on field trips, Woodland’s music and theater departments are determined to defy the odds and take an adventure outside of school . They are hosting a field trip to see “The Lion King” on Broadway in New York City.  The music and theater department are taking their trip on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022.

Both the music and theater departments have organized this event for their students to take a break from school and from their rigorous rehearsal schedule for their upcoming musical “Emma! Pop Musical.”  Attending this field trip is available to all students who are in a performance class.

Thomas Simonetti, Woodland’s theater director, is especially excited to be a part of many student’s first “Broadway” experience.

“The most exciting part, I think, is watching the students for me, having seen the show and watching them during the opening number,” said Simonetti. “I think that’ll be fun. Watching them kind of relive their childhood.”

The music and theater departments are excited for this new and unique experience.   Finally, after two and a half years of anticipation, they can cross “Broadway” off of their bucket list.
