Woodland vs. Morgan Pre-game Stats

This evening the WRHS Football Team will be hosting the Morgan High School Huskies in a Class S State quarter-final. It is the first time the Hawk’s will be playing a home play off game since 2004.  According to the NVL Football Blog, the matchup will be the most competitive out of the four Class S quarter-final games being played.

This season the Morgan Huskies held an overall record of 10-1 and a league record of 5-1, putting them in the number 5 seed going into the playoffs. While Woodland has a record of 10-2, 6-1 in the league, giving them the number 4 spot in Class S. Seeding for the tournament is based on a team’s “power,” not their overall record. Therefore, Woodland earned a spot above Morgan because they proved to be a stronger team based on the points scored and the victories they had throughout the season.

Woodland will rely on the arm of Tanner Kinglsey, who according to the statistics  has performed best during home games this season, to put a leash on the Huskies. While the Huskie’s hope running back Jake Ward will keep the Woodland defense on their toes.

The Hawks and the Huskie’s go head to head tonight, December 3rd, at the Woodland Regional High School football field at 6;30 p.m.
