Woodland Girls’ Soccer Team Strives to Stand Out this Season

With 11 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie, the Woodland Girls’ Soccer Team has been fighting to find success this season.

After watching the Varsity Team sweep Watertown this past Friday with both determination and enthusiasm, it is clear that the Woodland Girls’ Soccer Team members are fierce.

Throughout the season, each girl has grown not only as an individual player, but also as a member of the soccer team family. The new girls on the team in particular, have been learning how to become better players and more reliable teammates. Luckily, they have been able to do this by watching the upper class-men, listening to their coaches, and learning from their mistakes.

“We started off the season with a huge win over Naugatuck and from that point on we have gotten so much closer as a team and have improved every day,” said Varsity Captain, Andrea Piccolo.

With a compassionate coach, helpful upper class-men, and eager newbies, there is no stopping these girls from working to accomplish all of the goals they have set for this season.
