Girls Swimming Tops Holy Cross

On Friday, September 17th the Woodland Girls Swim team defeated Holy Cross with a score of 95-90.

Woodland Sophomore Emily Trumbley is content with how the team swam. “Yeah, I’m happy with todays meet, we did good,” said Trumbley.
Trumbley swims the Individual Medley, which consists of four different strokes. 

In the 50 freestyle, Woodland Sophomore Sydney Corneau came in second with 27 seconds.
In the 500 freestyle, Woodland Junior Katie Hinckley was neck to neck with Holy Cross Senior Amanda Steinfeld. But Hinckley came out on top with 5 minutes thirty-three seconds, five seconds before Steinfeld.

Another win for Woodland was Freshman Anna Boris in the 100 butterfly race. Boris finished in 1 minute and 20 seconds.

Junior Woodland Divers Dayna Chucta and Katerina Smith and Sophomore Kim Thrasher all did good in their diving meet.
Chucta got the most points for her 2 summersault dives. Thrasher and Smith both did well on their dives.

Overall, the Woodland girls’ came out strong to defeat rival Holy Cross.
