On May 18th, Woodland joined other schools in the Naugatuck Valley League for the NVLs track meet in Torrington. Woodland celebrated multiple performances of athletes across events. Nathan Messina threw 160-05 in boy’s javelin, breaking his personal record. Gabe Diamante, Nick LaChappelle, Trevor Genthe and Sam Ambrocio took first in the boy’s 4×800 Meter Relay with a time of 8:23.50. Ambrocio also took first in the boy’s 1600 meter race with a time of 4:31.89. Faye Carnemolla took first in the girl’s 800 meter race with a time of 2:23.62. Emma Swanson took second in girl’s shot put, throwing 32-05.75. Leah Zainc took first in the girl’s 3200 meter race with a time of 11:50.72. Next up, the team looks to continue bringing their all to states.
