The Return of Fine Arts Honor Society

Kristen Lengyel, Woodland’s Fine art society’s advisor, is excited for another year of acknowledging Woodland’s artists. This club is dedicated to recognizing the students who participate in visual arts, drawing, ceramics, painting, sculpture, photography, and graphic design.

Composed of Woodland’s finest visual artists, the Fine Arts Society participates in and organizes community service events, winter and spring fine arts night, and field trips to museums and galleries. In order to be recognized as a member of the Fine Arts Society, students must have taken or are currently enrolled in a level three visual art course. The student must also be currently enrolled in any visual arts course at any level with a 90% or higher average, and an 80% or higher average across all classes. The final requirement is the student must have five hours of community service.

The club meets the second Tuesday of every month all year around, and opens to new applicants in February. The Fine Arts Society is a fairly new club as this is it’s second year and they are yet to have an induction.

“Everybody is very excited and interested in making things, and doing things, and seeing things and the energy within the club is very positive which is great,” said Lengyel.

The club enjoys working together and making plans to benefit the school and themselves, while also having a good time. A great resource for students who are interested in visual arts and have a talent for it,  The Fine Arts Society is where they can further their art and work with other students who share the same passion that they do.
