Internship Spotlight: Ella Bernegger

Ella Bernegger, senior at Woodland, has always loved reading. Recently, she has wanted to gain experience in the publishing world, so for her senior internship, she found herself at Move Books.

“I was hoping to become part of the publishing industry and I’ve always loved writing,” Bernegger said.

Even though she only started this internship a few weeks ago, she really enjoys working at Move Books. She had the idea of this as a career, but her time at Move Books has made her even more confident that going into publishing is what she wants to do.

“It’s always good to make connections,” said Bernegger.

Hoping that by doing this internship, she will gain valuable connections to help her in the publishing world. While attending college, she is hoping that she will meet even more people in the publishing industry.

She plans to attend Southern Connecticut State University starting the 2023 fall semester. Where she is double majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing and marketing with a minor in arts administration and culture advocacy. She hopes to bring more awareness and revenue to the arts industry.

“Publishing would give me the opportunity to not only write on the side but also make other people’s dreams come true,” said Bernegger.

Most seniors who choose to do an internship realize that they don’t actually like what they were considering pursuing in the future, but Ella Bernegger has found something she really enjoys and is excited to pursue this career.
