Dance All NVL

At the Dance NVL championship three dancers from the Woodland team received the All NVL award, an amazing accomplishment for them.

Receiving the award were junior Makayla Constanti and seniors Grace Tottenham and Kaylin Guliani.

Tottenham received the award both this year and last year, her junior year. This year was particularly special because she was nominated alongside her best friend Kaylin.

“Last year, it was more of a shock to me because I didn’t usually think juniors got nominated,” Tottenham said.

Leadership was definitely key for both Tottenham and Guliani being nominated, especially since they were recently named co-captains of Woodlands dance team.

“I would say definitely has a lot to do with leadership. Being captain with my friend Grace kind of showed that we were putting in all the work but also just all the long hours we put into practicing,” Guliani said.

Alongside the captains, Constanti was also recognized with the all NVL award. As a junior, this is a huge accomplishment.

“When I received the medal I was in complete shock. I wasn’t at all expecting my name to be called because I never really get awarded for things,” Constanti said.

Constanti was very happy when she received the award, and felt rewarded after all her hard work this season.

As seniors on the dance team, the girls have a lot of experience. With their many years of experience in mind, they have much advice for younger dancers and athletes.

“Take advantage of opportunities, it definitely goes by fast,” Guliani said. “You’re going to miss it so enjoy it while it’s here and maybe don’t complain as much as you might.”
