Girl Scout Cookie Controversy

Girl Scout cookies, an iconic American trademark, have been sparking debates for years over which flavor is the best. The wait is over for this highly anticipated question. With several students and staff around Woodland advocating their opinions on the different flavors, it’s becoming increasingly apparent which cookie is superior.

Starting at the bottom of the list is Trefoils. Having only 5% of votes for favorite cookie. The Trefoil is a soft shortbread cookie, the main inspiration for girl scout cookies. In my opinion, the cookie tastes like frosted sugar cookies you can buy at Walmart or target. A very classic, basic cookie. There is nothing too special about this cookie, on the list.

Progressively getting better, in third place was Tagalongs. Tagalongs are a crisp cookie with peanut butter layers inside, with a chocolate coating. When you are eating these cookies, it starts off with a crisp crunch of peanut butter, then followed by a smooth chocolate finish. This cookie had a 19% vote from woodland students and staff. Personally, I think this cookie is a great competitor. It has an iconic combination of flavors that have been the fan favorite for years.

Continuing up the list, the next cookie is Samoa. This is a coconut cookie coated in caramel with chocolate stripes. This is my favorite cookie, but only had 29% of votes by Woodland students and staff. This cookie has a perfect amount of sweetness to it. It has a perfect and unique shape with an open hole in the center and a perfect crunch when you bite into it. Samoas will always be the first box I reach for when I see the cookies being sold.

Last but not least, Woodland’s most popular voted cookie, the Thin Mint. This is a crisp chocolate cookie, dipped in a mint chocolate coating. The texture of this cookie is truly the best part. The crunch followed by a cooling taste of mint is divine. This cookie has won the hearts of many, including mine.
