Who Dunnit? Drama Clubs Production of Clue

The electrifying Woodland Drama Club produced the play of Clue this fall. The production was held on the 22nd of October at seven o’clock and the 23rd of October at one o’clock.

Hannah Mudry played the role of Mrs. White, a character with less emotions than Mudry previously had.

With putting in over fifteen hours a week, Mudry can often feel exhausted but loves everything she does.

“Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be an actor. My grandfather was an actor too, and I wanted to follow in his footsteps,” Mudry said.

Another dedicated actor to the club is Claire Cummings, who played Wadsworth, the utler. Cummings fell in love with acting because of family who have all been apart of drama clubs in the past.

Cummings auditioned for the role of Wadsworth because it pushes Cummings ability as an actor. Cummings is challenged to play two different sides of the character. On one hand a butler is supposed to act calm, but on the other, a murder is happening in the house, so it is hard to be calm about everything. This is what pushes Cummings to be a better actor.

Director Thomas Simonetti is hard at work to make sure this year’s play is a success. He has been an actor, producer and singer in the past and really brings his heart and soul to the club. Simonetti is very careful when he selects the plays, since there are many different factors that go into deciding the production. He looks at what talents the actors have, things that might be interesting to the students and community.

Simonetti believes that theater was a huge part of his life; he has been on national tours and he has been a producer. He fell in love with the drama club when he came to Woodland. Some of his favorite parts about the club is watching everyone grow together, and the development of the characters and the actors.

One of the characters that was in the Clue play is Mrs. Peacock, who is played by Alyssa Gillies. She originally wanted to audition for the role of Miss. Scarlet, but constantly found Mrs. Peacock merchandise and thought of it as a sign. Gillies loved the role of Mrs. Peacock for many reasons.

“It is a lot of fun being super expressive and loud. You have a lot of fun with the character and I watched the original clue movie and really liked Mrs. Peacock,” Gillies said.

The cast of Clue had an amazing play. They have an amazing talent pool that they will bring to the stage this year. Be sure to come and support the Woodland drama club in their upcoming performances this year.
