Order Up! Class of 2024 Takes Over Hometown and Antonio’s Pizza

Maybe you wake up one morning and your room is freezing, you forget your lunch at home, and you have so much work to get done throughout the day. Maybe when you get home, you simply can’t bring yourself to cook dinner. Or, maybe you have the most awesome day ever and you want to celebrate with food from Connecticut’s most esteemed restaurants. On October 19th, we asked you to do just that as Woodland’s class of 2024 hosted a fundraiser through Hometown Pizza and Antonio’s. All day you could place an order and mention the class of 2024 so they received 10% of all purchases. This included take-out, delivery, and dine-in.

Abby Bunk, secretary of the class council, agreed that this fundraiser was a success.

“This was a convenient way to earn our class some money, and also provide support for our local restaurants.”

Bunk pointed out that the different locations in each town made this fundraiser especially accessible for everyone who chose to participate.

For those individuals who participated in the fundraiser, the class of 2024 is eternally grateful.

“It was so important that people participated because the profit will help to fund our class for any events that we choose to take part in, and it will help offset the cost of prom next year,” said Connor Cull, the treasurer of the class council.

In terms of the “events” that will be planned using this money, spirit week is quickly approaching.

“The more money we make, the more we can spend on spirit week,” Emma Swanson, 2024 class secretary, pointed out.

This means funding the hallways decorations, spirit shirts, and other apparel to match the blue theme for the juniors this year.

The class of 2024 is happy to report that the fundraiser did go well, and they are very thankful to everyone who contributed. Antonio’s made a profit of $200, and Hometown a profit of $70, equally a grand total of $270. This would not have been possible without the generosity from Woodland’s community.

For any class councils looking for a great way to build their budget, look no further than these wonderful fundraisers that benefited both the class, and the business.

Cull expressed his gratitude for this event and everyone who was a part of it.

“By taking part in this fundraiser, you not only got a tasty dinner, but you were also able to contribute to class spirit.”
