June Rydzik, 2022 CAS Administrative Assistant of the Year

June Rydzik, Woodland’s Administrative Assistant, has been nominated as and named the 2022 CAS Administrative Assistant of the Year.

“I think it is a nice honor to be recognized by the Connecticut Association of Schools and Region 16,” said Rydzik.

To be considered for this award, Rydzik was required to have excellent leadership skills, a strong commitment to staff and students, a service to the community and a contribution to the overall success of the school. The recipient was also required to have success in specific areas; quality of work, dependability and collaboration and personalization and relationships.

Rydzik has been showing her devotion to Woodland for the past twenty years doing numerous tasks for the building.

“I have been administrative assistant to the principal and the lead secretary in the building,” said Rydzik. “My position is to manage the offices of the school and plan different events that we have here, such as achievement awards and graduation ceremonies. As well as putting the day to day office management and sub coordination into the system.”

Rydzik’s hard work as an administrative assistant was proven to her while on vacation with her family. Kurt Ogren, Woodland’s principal, sent Rydzik a video message with the exciting news.

“It was very nice. I had no idea I was even being nominated [by my colleagues around the building],” said Rydzik. “I am honored and grateful for everyone I work with at Woodland.”

Rydzik will receive her award Friday, April 29th for 2022 CAS Administrative Assistant of the Year recipient.
