Athlete Spotlight: Hunter Morgan

As the cheering crowds scream his name, Hunter Morgan, senior captain, prepares for his final season. Morgan has been a part of the Woodland swim team for four years. He began his journey in eighth grade and fell in love with the sport ever since. Putting lots of hard work into his career, he was made the captain of the swim team.

“Being titled as a captain is really motivating to me because it makes me want to work harder each day,” said Morgan.

Becoming swim team captain comes with lots of responsibilities.

“I can not really mess around anymore,” said Morgan. “I always need to make sure the other swimmers are in line and are actively participating during practice.”

Being a part of the team is a big accomplishment for Morgan; while he does not plan on swimming in college, he wants to make the best of his final season. He enjoys the swim meets and being able to cheer his teammates on. Morgan leaves some encouraging words for his younger teammates.

“Kick more and swim as hard as you can during the meets,” said Morgan. “Hard work always pays off.”

The Hawks won NVLs, accomplishing Morgan’s main goal for the season–win NVLs.

“My main goal for the remainder of the season is to have fun and work as hard as possible,” said Morgan.

Reflecting on his past seasons, Morgan enjoys all of the memories made. As he continues his senior year he will continue to work hard everyday. With his positive attitude, determination, and perseverance, Morgan will leave a mark on Woodland.
