Boys Diving Wins NVL Meet

The boy’s swimming and diving team has persisted and strived for top placement over the entire season. This has not been an easy road for the team, but overall their performances stood out.

The diving team consists of DJ Mulligan, DeAngelo Allen, and Taha Turshani. The Woodland divers placed first, DJ Mulligan, third, DeAngelo Allen, and eighth, Taha Turshani at NVLs.

Mulligan, placing first at the NVL meet, earned other achievements and titles.

“I did good during the season breaking the six dive record and having the best six dives score in the NVL,” Mulligan said.

The boys practiced diving for hours in the pool everyday. Allen worked hard during the season, scoring third at the NVL meet.

“Working hard and practicing every day of course helped me to get to this spot, but what makes up the other portion is definitely the team you work with,” Allen said. “ Having a phenomenal coach and teammates really pushes you over the top to succeed.”

The boys’ perseverance has gotten them through this season. With COVID-19 and all of the restrictions they still made it to the top.

“I truly think that all my hard work paid off; I never would have thought that I would make it to NVLs this year, but I worked my hardest and made it,” Turshani explained.

Winning NVLs was a major achievement for the Boy’s diving team this season. The boys plan to work hard and keep their titles next season.
