Spring Spirit Week

As the school year slowly comes to a close, Woodland still has yet to have an official spirit week. There have been multiple spirit days, but having the hybrid schedule has made it very difficult in planning a full spirit week.

Now, according to Alyssa Gillies, who works the event, said there will in fact be a spirit week. There will also be countless modifications to accommodate the COVID-19 regulations.

Spirit Week will now turn into Spirit Weeks; due to the two cohorts. There will be two days for each prompt, so this will cause there to be more days used than normal.

“We will not be holding a pep rally because of the fact that we can’t hold that many people in the gym. We want to do something similar, and we are going to continue the tradition of the Spirit Shovel.”

“Figuring out how to participate in the tradition of the Spirit Shovel has been very difficult,” Said Gillies. “We cannot have everyone in one place at once, so the answer as of now is to announce the winners and have them run down to grab the shovel.”

All of the school’s regulations are being taken into consideration when planning this year’s Spirit Week, and everyone is working hard to make this as normal and as fun as possible.

Spirit Week is now scheduled for mid-May after AP week. “Once we finish with AP week, we can get right into the fun.”
