Class of 2021: End of Year Plans

The Woodland class of 2021 has had a rocky senior year.  The sudden changes due to COVID-19 have affected every aspect of the seniors experience. Kim Athan and Daniela Santos, the advisors of the class have various things in store for the seniors this upcoming semester.

Quassy night is an event that will be held on Friday, June 4th from 10:30pm-4:00am.  The park will be open exclusively for Woodland seniors and students will have to pay to attend the event.  Various activities will be held throughout the night and food and beverages will be made available.

The advisors have also begun planning a prom with a committee put together in hopes that this can be possible even with the COVID restrictions.  A survey was recently sent out asking seniors to vote for their favorite theme for the prom.

T-shirt designs are being compiled one of which will be “non-traditional.”  The other will be a traditional black and gold shirt with each student’s signature.  This particular shirt will take time to compile because of the current school schedule and students who are distance learning.

Even though this year has been difficult, Athan knows they will work harder than ever to make it as amazing as possible.

“We will work with the PTO to see if we can come up with some other surprises as we get closer to spring.”
