Ivory Ella: Elephant Friendly and Fashionable

Do you remember when you were young; really young? You would go on trips to the zoo with your elementary school or even your family. You would be indulged by the array of wildlife right at your fingertips. You would hear the blaring roar of the lion and stretch your neck up as tall as the giraffe. Then there were the elephants. Many times they would just be laying around in the mud but sometimes you’d be able to see them playing. They would spray water at one another with their massive trunks and push each other around with their mesmerizing ivory tusks. You probably sat there and thought, “Life couldn’t get better than this. I have animals. I have a Juicebox. Life is good.”

But if only you knew the truth about some of these animals; you would treasure the opportunity of being face-to-face with them before they went extinct. It is predicted that elephants will go extinct within our lifetime.

Elephant poaching has become a serious struggle. Hunters kill entire elephants just to get a hold of their rare ivory tusks. Companies like “Save The Elephants” set out to save elephants so the prediction about elephants going extinct in our lifetime does not come true.So let’s save the elephants and look cute while doing it.

But how can you help?

On April 18, 2015 a company named Ivory Ella launched in Groton, Connecticut. The company’s ultimate goal is to sell apparel that is visually appealing as well as supports saving elephants. The company donates 10% of every purchase to “save the elephants”. Ivory Ella has already donated over $165,000 to savetheelephants.org and doesn’t plan on stopping there. The company is always adding new, gender-neutral articles of clothing, phone cases, necklaces, and even reusable water bottles to their collection. So next time you’re online check out their website.
