Senior Project Spotlight: Zach Noreika Supports the Troops

“The greatest casualty is being forgotten.” The Wounded Warrior Project is a foundation that revolves around making sure that wounded soldiers know that we are supporting them and are thankful for all that they have done. These brave individuals are all heroes and this foundation reminds them of that.

[su_quote]”I joined the military to serve the country I live in and the country I love.” – Zach Noreika[/su_quote]The Wounded Warrior Project helps rehabilitate wounded soldiers when they return home from war. The foundation enables people to help thousands of wounded soldiers by donating money, food and clothing. The money they make is used to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured soldiers. The money is also used to provide programs and services to help the injured service members when they need it. They also provide assistance to their families.

Zach Noreika, Woodland senior, has dedicated his senior project to raising money for this foundation. In order to raise money there will be a pasta dinner at the Prospect Fire House, Friday May 8th from 5:00 to 9:00pm. The charge is $6 for anyone under the age of 10 and $10 for anyone over the age of 10.

Members of Noreika’s family have served in the military so he has been around the armed forces his entire life. He knew that he wanted to do a senior project that would support the armed services that he will soon be a part of.He chose this as his senior project because ever since he was a kid joining the military had been familiar to him being that it has been in his family for years.

”I joined the military to serve the country I live in and the country I love,” explained Noreika.

He is also very interested in helping wounded soldiers.

“It means a lot to me knowing that I can potentially help out our soldiers and veterans who have been injured in combat overseas defending our country.”
