Woodland Runners Ready for Another Championship Season

Now that winter sports are finished and the weather is warming, many Woodland athletes are prepping for the largest spring team- outdoor track. Within this large team, each runner, thrower, or jumper has an individual goal, but they all share one common goal, to win NVLs once again. The boys team has consecutively won the NVL championship meet for the last three years and the girls have won the championship the past two years.

These athletes are ready to begin a new season and work toward their goal of holding on to the title of the best track team in the NVL. Through hard work and dedication, the team will push through and hopefully win once again.

“We have high standards for our program because we are not afraid to raise the bar and get after it to win,” said Tim Shae, Head Coach for the Boys Outdoor Track.

The athletes have hope that the season will go well because of their hard work and dedication. With a large team, they know that their are many great athletes that will give them an advantage, and hopefully a win at the end of the season.

“I think that we are going to have  a good season; we have a lot of good athletes and everyone works hard,” said sophomore runner Samantha Plasky.

Besides the one main goal, the team still has goals for individuals who work hard and push to qualify for states and continue to represent their school and team.

It is exciting to see if the tradition lives on and to see what the many athletes on the Outdoor Team will do to win a championship title for Woodland once again.

“We have a lot of young athletes back, who are ready to continue on the tradition,” said Shae.
