Q&A with K.O

We asked Kurt Ogren, Principal of Woodland Regional High School, a few questions about the whats going on around Woodland, and a few about himself.

How do you think the school year has gone so far?

The school year is off to an excellent start. We’ve had very few issues and gotten lots of positive feedback from parents, students and staff about how positive the start to the school year has been.

Are there any things going on this month that students should know about?

There’s about a thousand things going at Woodland right now! But one big thing starting on October 15th, all students and staff are going to have to take an important survey. Every ten years, high schools have to go through an accreditation process. In order to ensure that we are a creditable school for students to graduate from. Our accreditation will take place in April 2016 but these surveys are an important first step in the process. It’s very important that students, staff and some parents complete the survies. Also, on October 17th and the 20th, the senior project committee will be meeting with seniors to approve their projects.

Do you have any goals for this school year?

Mostly, I want our students to continue being involved with lots of community service and positive extracurricular. Our students do a great job with this already so I would really like to see it continue.
