Student Council Office Vandalized

The Woodland Regional  Student Council members thought they were returning to Woodland over the summer for a leadership meeting. When they arrived in their office, however, they discovered their precious constitution had been destroyed.

The WRSC constitution was passed in 2009 and signed by it’s creators. This constitution, which previously hung on the wall in their office, was found ripped, crumpled, and stuffed behind the couch. The frame that held this constitution lay cracked and on the floor.

Noelle Guerrera, Cabinet Recording Secretary, recalls Student Council advisor Chris Tomlin’s disappointment when she arrived at the school that day.

“We can print out a new constitution no problem, but we can never get those signatures back,” said Tomlin.

The constitution was not the only thing that was vandalized. An Advanced Placement shirt from 2013 is also missing from Tomlin’s room. Aside from those two items, however, nothing else was touched.

The room was left unlocked over the summer and the furniture was removed from the classroom by the custodial staff. Tomlin has made administration and the custodial staff aware of this issue and has yet to hear back from them.

“It is really disappointing because it is such a cool thing to have.”
