There is a lot of jewelry all around the world and different people wear it for different reasons. Companies such as Alex & Ani, Pandora, Kay Jewelers, and Troll make charms. Alex &Ani and Pandora products are just two of the companies that are the most popular in the US.

Alex & Ani was created in 2010 and has since become one of the most popular pieces of jewelry in this country. The company designs products such as bangles, necklaces, rings, and earrings that have one charm on it, representing something special for everyone. You can find absolutely any charm that you could dream of with special collections, if you want a set of something in particular. Some people have just a bangle with nothing on it, with no special meaning to it. Others have a charm that says “daughter”, which their mother gave them, a letter for the beginning of their name, or a “love” charm just because it’s nice. Alex & Ani can make great gift for someone especially if it carries a special meaning. Also, according to freshmen, Krista DeTulio, “Alex & Ani are simple, cute, stylish, and lightweight.”

The Pandora brand is popular as well, but doesn’t seem to be as greatly popular as Alex & Ani any more. Pandora has special charms for holidays and other occasions and can also be unique and special. Pandora allows you to design your own bracelets, necklaces, earrings, or watches, which is not an option with Alex & Ani. You can always find a charm that you need, seeing as there are more than 600 charms available.

However, according to freshmen, Gianna Polletta, “The beads on Pandora are too bulky, big, and heavy.” The beads may be pretty and meaningful, but not many seem to wear them possibly because of their weight.

Pandora and Alex & Ani are two very competing chains that represent something for everyone. Though some people prefer one or the other for certain reasons, there is something out there for everyone.  Both make it possible to look pretty and show off your style!
