Kingsley’s Last Chance to Shine

Time is running out for senior, Tanner Kingsley. With just a few games left Kingsley is reaching high to beat the Hawk’s basketball point record of 1,261 points. Now with just a few games left and less than 100 points to go, the pressure is on.

Kingsley has confidence that he will accomplish his goal by the end of the season, which is quickly approaching. It would be an honor to hold the record and forever show off his name hanging on the banner in the gym.

Ever since Kingsley started playing basketball at the young age of four, he has set himself apart from other players. Each year Kingsley has contributed points to his team and every time he steps on the court his game improves.

Kingsley’s goal is to beat former girl’s basketball player, Heather Framski’s record of 1,261 points. Framski’s record has been hanging on a banner in the gym since 2011, and Kingsley is stepping up his game to beat it.

“Beating Woodland’s record would be a great accomplishment because I would be the first boy to ever score more than 1,261 points. To be the overall scoring leader of the school would be great,” said Kingsley.

In addition to playing basketball, Kingsley also plays football and baseball. Considering football is his favorite sport, he hopes to play football in college.

Luckily for him, Kingsley had found much success in all of the sports that he has played. Despite the fact that he may not be the biggest kid on the field or court, he does not let this hold him back.

“No matter what your size or athletic talent is, always work hard at practice and listen to the coach,” said Kingsley. “If you do all of that, then you will be successful.”
