Kenny Chesney Comes to Mohegan

A cut off tee-shirt and a cowboy hat, this man hit the stage on April 8th and 9th. Kenny Chesney kicked off summer with his 2011 tour, Kenny Chesney goes coastal.
Two country singers accompanied Kenny on the tour, which took place at Mohegan Sun.
Uncle Kracker was the first to kick off the show at 8 p.m. Kracker got the crowd pumped up when he sang most of his old songs that the crowd knew by heart.
The mike was passed off to country singer, Billy Currington. Currington sang his seventh number one hit, Let Me Down Easy. The crowd went wild when they heard his voice. Arms swayed in the stands with the flow of the beat. Billy left the stage having the crowd craving for more.
With a 20 minute intermission, the crowd was getting anxious seeing the stage hands set up for Kenny. A huge square curtain stunned fans with a picture of a clear blue sea with an island glowing from a sunset background. It read in big letters, Kenny Chesney goes Coastal.
The lights went down and the fans hearts were pounding. His opener was, Live a Little, from his new album, Hemingway’s Whiskey.
The sound of the guitar and the pounding drums made the stage light up, showing the outline of Kenny and his band. The curtain started to rise and the crowd screamed their lungs out hearing his voice.
The country cowboy spoke to his fans about how his concert is the “kick off” to summer season despite the cold winter.
He started to sing many of his greatest hits and current songs from his newest album, Hemingway’s Whiskey. Kenny’s fans sang along to every word.
They went wild when Kenny and Uncle Kracker sang, When the Sun Goes Down together. The melody of their voices was a great sound to hear. The fans were also treated of collaboration when Billy Currington came to sing with Chesney. The boys sang, She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.
Kenny closed the show with his famous song, The Boys of Fall, written about his small town life.
Kenny Chesney sang an amazing show with the help of his friends, Uncle Kracker and Billy Currington. Before he left the stage he said that he is looking forward to visiting Connecticut again very soon.
