Woodland Volleyball Has Success Against Seymour

The Woodland Volleyball team defeated the Seymour Wilcats on Tuesday, October 5th at Seymour.

The game was highly touted as  the Wildcats are the defending Naugatuck Valley League Brass Divsion Champions, defeating Woodland to win the title last year.

The Hawks beat the Wilcats in just three matches (3-0). The scores of the three matches were 25-21, 25-19, and 25-22, respectively.

For Woodland, Senior Lindsay Boland had 9 kills, 5 aces, and 18 digs. Senior Heather Framski tallied 12 kills, 4 blocks, 7 aces, and 9 digs. While Senior Captain Jess Patrizi contributed with 5 kills, a game-high 27 assists, and 2 aces and Junior Adriana Ambari had 11 kills and 4 blocks.

For Wolcott, Junior Christina Cretella had 14 kills and 8 assists while Senior Stephanie Burt had 5 kills and 15 assists.

By defeating Seymour, Woodland is now in a three-way tie for first place in the NVL with Kennedy and Seymour. All three teams have records of 8-1.

Woodland’s next game is on Thursday, October 7th at Ansonia High School at 6 P.M. Woodland won their previous meeting with Ansonia this season by a score of 3-0.
